Aspirants for elections into various portfolios in the Student's Executive Council (SEC) were today screened by the Students Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) under the strict supervision of the Dean, Students Affairs, Prof. T. Aboiyar.
The exercise which was characterized by submission of academic and electoral related documents was hitch free as the Comr. Abaver led SUEC ensured fair play in all proceedings of the exercise.
Speaking with Aspirants who participated in Monday's screening, they expressed satisfaction in the model used for the 2016/2017 electoral screening and charged the electoral committee to translate such openess and equity in the conduct of the general elections come Saturday, 28th July 2018.
Documentation was also carried out by Campus gist 'paper at the venue of the screening in a bid to create a data base for all Aspirants ahead of the maiden edition of the Students Union Presidential debate/Manifesto session.
As the countdown to the election continues, the enthusiasm of Makurdians continues to heighten as debates and opinions differ on what possibly will represent the next face of the Students union leadership.
