The Selection process of members of the Students Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) which was piloted by the Students Supreme Council (SSC) has come to an end and the succeful nominees were yesterday, 11th July 2018 formally inaugurated to take charge of the 2016/2017 transition process of the Students Union, UAM.
The inauguration ceremony was characterized by an oath taking ceremony administered by the Speaker of the SSC. (Rt. Sen. Jerome Ikyon) on the nominees, speeches were also delivered by the Dean, Students Affairs (Prof. Terhemen Aboiyar) and other selected dignatories who observed the all unique union ritual.
An election was held after the inauguration ceremony, to decide a leadership framework for the Electoral Committee. Twenty two (22) members of the committee participated in the process which led to the election of Comr. Jeremiah Abaver (Col. of Animal Science Rep) as SUEC. Chairman and Rt. Comr. Vershima Ityo (Col. of Science Education Rep) as Secretary haven scored the highest votes.
The Comr. Jeremiah Abaver led SUEC is expected to in the next fourteen days conduct free, fair and credible elections for the Students Union and formally present the elected candidates for inauguration to complete the Union's transition circle.
