Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has given the sum of five million Naira to the best graduating student of the Lagos state university, Mr. Fuad Ogunsanya for his excellent academic performance.
Governor Ambode also awarded him scholarship for higher degree studies in any university of his choice.
Mr. Ambode announced the award at the 22nd Convocation of the Lagos state university for the 2017 academic session held at the University main Campus in Ojo.
The Governor said he was impressed by the story of the best graduating student who fought his way into academic excellence despite all odds pertaining to his health and family background.
Speaking on behalf of other graduating students, Mr. Ogunsanya Fuad who graduated with C.G.P.A of 4.78 from the department of Business Administration thanked the Governor for His kind gesture.
He however, urged his fellow graduating students to proffer solutions to different problems bedeviling the nation's socio-economic development as they proceed to the world of work after their graduation.
In a remark, the Chancellor, Lagos State University, Justice Adesola Oguntade enjoined the graduating students to make integrity and courage their watchword in whatever they do.
The vice chancellor , Lagos State University, LASU, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun charged the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the school wherever they found themselves.
Those that graduated with first class were later presented with plaques of honour at the event.
