Thousands of Students convened at the James Ayatse Convocation Arena of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi on Friday, 27th July 2018 to witness the maiden edition of the Students Union Presidential debate and Manifesto session organised by Campus gist 'paper.
The epoch making event which was transmitted on the National Television Network (NTA) was attended by staff of the University, Students, Government officials, NGO's, Media outfits amongst other dignatories from various works of life.
Aspirants of the 2016/2017 Students Union election took turns to present their manifesto and respond to questions from Panelists and the audience.
The event was climaxed with the unveiling of candidates for the Presidential debate. Two candidates (Comr. Apeaii Frank and Comr. Dajoh Jacob) participated in the Presidential debate session which was characterized by a questions and discussion session between the Aspirants and the Panelists as Makurdians observed keenly.
Guests Present at the event took turns to give remarks applauding Campus gist 'paper and the Students Union Electoral Committee for putting up Friday's activity which many believe will change the future of elections in the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
Entertainment at Friday's event featured the Presentation of the Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL) theme song by the UAM Tillers flash mob crew.
Following the successful conduct of the Maiden edition of the Students Union Presidential debate & Manifesto session, all and sundry are confident that Great Makurdians advance to the polls to vote in the cabinet elections, better convinced on which candidates can deliver the leadership the Union can and should have at all levels.
