SPEAKER, STUDENTS' SUPREME COUNCIL (SSC) LEADS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO FMC. APIR TO SYMPATHIZE WITH VICTIMS OF WEDNESDAY'S AUTO CRASH!!!

The Speaker,  Students Supreme Council (SSC) University of Agriculture,  Makurdi (Rt. Sen. Jerome Ikyon T.)  led a delegation of Principal officers,  Campus gist 'paper and Members of parliament on a solidarity visit to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Apir today,  18th August, 2018 to sympathize with victims of Wednesday's auto crash on the University campus.

Upon arrival at the tertiary health centre, the delegation met with the Management of the hospital who assured them that the Patients were been attended to adequately  and they were responding readily to treatment.

The Speaker led a tour round the wards where the victims of Wednesday's mishap were receiving medical attention in company of their relatives and friends. Members of the delegation took turns to interact with the students who evidently affirmed they were at various levels of recovery.

Relief items were presented by the delegation to the victims to support their stay in the hospital while they were assured of the dedication of the Students Union and University Administration towards ensuring that their supreme sacrifice becomes a inspiration for ideal change in critical areas of the University Structures to proffer better security for all Makurdians. 

Prayers were offered for the Students in unison with other Patients at the hospital who applauded the initiative of the Students to reach out to their colleagues, iterating it as a mark of comradeship and a worthy example to follow.

The visit of the Speaker and his delegation is one amongst the many solidarity visits the Victims of Wednesday's mishap have received.. They and their families  have registered their unreserved gratitude to God Almighty for sparing the lives of their loved ones and Great Makurdians for their enduring act of love and compassion.

One of the Victims has been discharged and is recovering at home while others are still at the hospital receiving care. Some of the Students visited at the hospital included:
1. Luther Iaangi (200L Agric and Environmental Engineering)
2. Cecilia Okori (200L Fisheries and Aquaculture)
3. Idoko Patience (200L Animal Production)
4. Emmanuel Omeh (300L Animal Nutrition)
5. Onunliuya Magida (200L Animal Production)

Late Mr. Joseph Odeh, the only student who lost his life in the incident was buried yesterday in his country home.
